MISSING IN ACTION:Big Tom Learoyd-Lahrs (hamstring) is out for a couple of weeks for the Raiders and will be replaced in the starting line-up by Dane Tilse, allowing Sam Mataora a shot on the bench. Full-back Josh Dugan will play despite suffering a knock to his ribs last Sunday, while the club is hopeful Kiwi back-rower Bronson Harrison (back) will return next week.

There is just one change for Brisbane, with Josh Hoffman returning from suspension at full-back, replacing Luke Capewell. Corey Parker (knee), Justin Hodges (hamstring), Dale Copley (leg fracture) and Jack Reed (broken leg) are all due back in the next couple of weeks.

FORM:The Raiders are harder to read than a Johnathan Thurston dummy, moving from a superb 36-4 annihilation of the top-eight Sharks a fortnight ago to the dribble produced against the Knights at home last Sunday. They can go from cleaning up a quality opposition to being cleaned up themselves by teams below them on the ladder. At least they are proving consistent on home soil – consistently bad that is.

Brisbane left around 22,000 of their fans scratching their heads last Monday night in the wake of a sub-standard effort against the last-placed Eels which resulted in a 42-22 loss. With so much backline talent on the sidelines, the Broncos were understandably flat in attack, but what did surprise was just how ineffective their quality forward pack was against an exuberant Eels’ opposition. There were experienced players in the Brisbane pack that were made to look second-rate at times, most notably the skipper. A tough run home could see Brisbane finish out of the top-four – a situation that seemed impossible at the halfway mark of the season.

MISSING IN ACTION: Still no Paul Gallen (abdominal) and Jeremy Smith (knee) for the Sharks, while full-back Nathan Gardner has been penciled in for a Round 24 comeback from that serious knee injury he sustained earlier in the season. FORM: The Sharks dropped out of the top-four following their 18-10 loss to the Dragons at WIN Stadium on Sunday. Coach Shane Flanagan wasn’t a happy camper, but his anger was directed more towards the referees rather than his team, who performed admirably against desperate opposition at a ground they had not tasted success at since 1989. The competition’s surprise packets probably need three more wins from their final six games to be fully assured of a top-eight finish.
Just when you think the Raiders are on the verge of producing something special leading into the finals, they disappoint on a massive scale. Only 8,240 fans turned up at Canberra Stadium last Sunday to hopefully witness a third successive win by their team, but with the Titans racing out to a 28-4 lead 13 minutes after half-time, the game was as good as over, prompting many of the Raider diehards to leave in disgust. MISSING IN ACTION: The Raiders are missing seven players through injury, including Kiwi Test star Bronson Harrison (back/hamstring), full-back Josh Dugan (ankle) and forward Trevor Thurling (shoulder). MISSING IN ACTION: Raiders coach David Furner has taken a gamble by selecting star full-back Josh Dugan in the No. 6 jersey upon his return from being stood down for breaching the club’s strict alcohol policy. The Tigers are yet to a produce a polished 80 minute performance in 2012, but they have rediscovered the art of winning and their five victories on the trot have seen them edge into the top eight for the first time this season. Last Sunday’s 26-18 defeat of the top-four Cowboys was probably their most impressive victory of the year.
